ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well lung ultrasound scores can predict a condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in preterm infants. BPD is a serious lung condition that can affect babies born before 28 weeks of pregnancy. The researchers want to see if using lung ultrasounds is a reliable way to predict who might develop BPD compared to traditional clinical methods. The study will involve multiple hospitals in China and aims to gather data on infants born both before and after 28 weeks of gestation.
To participate in this study, infants must be born prematurely at less than 32 weeks of gestation and enrolled within 24 hours after birth, with written consent from their parents. Unfortunately, infants with certain serious health conditions, such as congenital heart defects or complex malformations, will not be eligible. If your baby qualifies and participates, the researchers will use lung ultrasounds to monitor their lung health over time, helping to improve care for future preterm infants.
