ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of inhaling a saline solution before a specific breathing exercise called the ELTGOL technique in adults with bronchiectasis. Bronchiectasis is a long-lasting lung condition that makes it hard for the body to clear mucus, leading to infections and breathing difficulties. The researchers want to see if inhaling this saline solution can make the mucus thinner and easier to remove, which could improve the effectiveness of the physiotherapy treatment.
To join the study, participants need to be adults aged 65 to 74 with a confirmed diagnosis of bronchiectasis and a history of mucus production. They should not have had any serious flare-ups in the past month and must be able to perform the breathing exercises. If they qualify, participants will receive saline inhalation therapy and practice the ELTGOL technique. This trial is currently recruiting, and if the results are positive, this approach could significantly improve the management of bronchiectasis for many patients.
