ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the use of a special type of mesh during surgery for hiatal hernias, which are conditions that can cause heartburn and other digestive issues. The goal is to see if using this mesh can help prevent these hernias from coming back after surgery. Participants in the study will be divided into two groups: one will have the surgery with the mesh, while the other will have the surgery without it.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 18 or older who have a diagnosed condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and are planning to have surgery for it. The study is currently recruiting participants and is open to all genders. Those who may not qualify include individuals with certain medical conditions, such as documented dementia, or those who are pregnant. If you choose to participate, you can expect to undergo surgery and contribute to important research that may help improve treatment options for future patients.
