ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to diagnose issues with the long biceps tendon (LBT), which can be fragile and cause shoulder pain. Researchers are creating a scoring system called the HASS score, which combines various clinical and imaging information to help doctors accurately identify LBT injuries before surgery. This is important because many patients currently face uncertainty about their condition, and decisions about surgery are often made during the procedure itself.

To participate in this trial, patients should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have been experiencing shoulder pain for more than six months that hasn't improved with medical treatment. However, those with a ruptured long biceps tendon on imaging tests will not be included. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo assessments that will help form the new HASS score, ultimately aiming to improve diagnosis and treatment for shoulder problems related to the long biceps tendon.
