ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how yoga-based breathing exercises can help patients who are undergoing surgery for colorectal cancer. The goal is to see if these exercises can reduce pain, fatigue, and trouble sleeping, while also improving patients' confidence in managing their health after surgery. The study involves 60 participants, divided into two groups: one group will practice these breathing exercises, while the other group will not.
To be eligible for the study, participants should be adults aged 18 or older who are having colorectal surgery for the first time and can use a mobile phone to access the exercise videos. They also need to be using the same type and amount of pain medication as others in the study. However, those who use sleeping pills, have a physical disability that makes breathing exercises difficult, have a psychiatric condition, or have practiced yoga breathing exercises recently are not eligible. Participants can expect to receive support and guidance in the form of breathing exercises, and their progress will be monitored throughout the study. Participation is completely voluntary, and written consent will be required.
