ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how patients feel about the process of giving consent for permanent birth control, specifically using the Medicaid Title XIX Sterilization Consent form. Researchers want to learn about patients' experiences and thoughts on how the current process works and what they believe would make it better. By participating, individuals will fill out a quick 10-15 minute survey and may also take part in a detailed one-on-one interview to share their thoughts.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be women who are seeking a permanent birth control procedure at a Columbia University practice, can speak either English or Spanish, and have already completed the Medicaid Title XIX Consent Form. However, those who are currently pregnant and looking for immediate postpartum sterilization are not eligible. This study is a great opportunity for patients to provide valuable feedback that could improve the consenting process for future patients.
