ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the ALCONIM study, is focused on understanding and preventing binge drinking among young people, especially students aged 18 to 30. Researchers want to learn more about what influences how people drink, such as social norms, personal identities, and motivations. The goal is to test a new prevention program that uses techniques like motivational interviewing (a way to encourage positive behavior change) and social identity mapping (understanding how group identities affect behavior) to help students reduce binge drinking.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 30 years old, speak French, and have a history of binge drinking. Pregnant or breastfeeding students and those with certain medical conditions will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in discussions and activities designed to help them reflect on their drinking habits and receive support in making healthier choices. The trial is currently recruiting, and those who join will play a key role in shaping effective prevention strategies for binge drinking.
