ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of creating space in the abdomen during a surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is performed to remove the gallbladder due to gallstones. The two methods being compared are low-pressure pneumoperitoneum and high-pressure pneumoperitoneum. The researchers want to find out which method results in less pain after surgery, less shoulder pain, and fewer injuries to the common bile duct, which is a tube that carries bile from the liver to the intestine.
To participate in the trial, patients must be adults of any gender who are scheduled for this type of surgery due to gallstones. However, those with heart problems or who have had previous abdominal surgeries are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to be part of a study that aims to improve surgical outcomes and comfort for future patients undergoing this procedure. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help shape future practices in laparoscopic surgery.
