ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to use a special type of MRI called zero echo time MRI (ZTE MRI) to help doctors examine the maxillary sinus and dental areas in patients who are missing teeth. The goal is to see if this method can provide clear images of both hard (like bone) and soft tissues (like gums) without using any radiation, which is often a concern with other imaging methods. This study is particularly focused on patients who may need dental implants in the back part of the upper jaw.
To participate in the trial, you should be over 18 years old and have missing teeth in the upper jaw's premolar and molar areas. You will also need to have a specific type of imaging called cone-beam computed tomography done beforehand. It's important that you do not have any systemic diseases that could affect your gum health, like diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis. If you decide to join, you'll be asked to sign a consent form to show that you understand the study and agree to take part. Overall, this trial aims to provide safer and more effective ways to prepare for dental implants.
