ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different ways to help older adults maintain their strength and ability to perform daily activities as they age. Specifically, it compares a new tailored approach to resistance exercise, which is designed based on each person's unique muscle characteristics, to a traditional exercise method that is the same for everyone. The goal is to see if this personalized training can lead to better improvements in muscle power and overall functional ability over a 12-week period.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 65 and 80 years old and living in the community (not in a nursing home). They should not have engaged in resistance exercise in the past year and should not have any serious health issues or recent surgeries that could affect their ability to exercise. If eligible, participants will engage in a structured exercise program and will help researchers understand whether the tailored approach is more effective than the traditional one. This study aims to provide valuable insights that could enhance exercise programs for older adults in the future.
