ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a technique for helping young children breathe during surgery. It focuses on using a special breathing tube, called an endotracheal tube (ETT), that is placed in a specific position above the vocal cords. The researchers want to find out if this method is safe, easy, and effective for ventilating (helping to breathe) pediatric patients who are undergoing surgery while under general anesthesia. This study is especially relevant for children who might have difficulties with regular intubation, such as those with tumors or abscesses.
To participate in the trial, children must be under 6 years old and undergoing surgery. Their legal guardians need to agree to the study by signing a consent form. However, children who already have a breathing tube, are at risk of certain health issues, or need emergency surgery are not eligible. If enrolled, participants will receive standard care that pediatric anesthesiologists typically provide. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve how doctors help young patients breathe during procedures.
