ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a treatment called auricular vagus nerve stimulation (AVNS) can help reduce neck pain, improve heart rate variability, and enhance balance in college athletes. The researchers will divide participants into two groups, each receiving AVNS with different settings to see how these variations affect their symptoms. The study aims to find out if this treatment can help athletes feel less pain, improve their heart function, and help them maintain better balance during activities.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be healthy college athletes aged between 18 and 26 years, with mild to moderate neck pain and a specific level of physical activity. They should have a body mass index (BMI) between 20 and 25, indicating a healthy weight. Those who have had recent injuries or fall outside the age and BMI range will not be included. Participants can expect to receive either of the AVNS settings during the trial, and researchers will monitor how these treatments affect their neck pain, heart rate, and balance over time.
