ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two ways to help manage pain after surgery in children who are having an open nephrectomy, which is a surgical procedure to remove a kidney. The study will compare two techniques: the Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) Block and the External Oblique Intercostal Plane (EOIP) Block. Both methods use ultrasound to guide the anesthetic injection, and the goal is to see which one provides better pain relief after the surgery.
To participate in this trial, children must be 18 years old or younger and scheduled for an open nephrectomy. They should be in good health overall, with no serious heart problems or issues that affect blood clotting. If a child has a history of certain medical conditions or if there's an infection at the injection site, they won't be eligible to join. Participants will receive one of the two pain management techniques during their surgery and will be monitored afterward to assess how well each method works. This study is currently recruiting new participants, and it offers a chance to contribute to improving pain management practices for pediatric surgeries.
