ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different methods to help manage pain after surgery for kidney removal, known as open nephrectomy. The researchers want to see which method, the external oblique intercostal plane (EOIP) block or the transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block, provides better pain relief for patients after their operation. Both techniques involve using local anesthesia to numb the area and are guided by ultrasound, which helps doctors place the medication accurately.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for an open nephrectomy. The trial is open to all genders and individuals who are generally healthy, as defined by their physical status. However, certain conditions may exclude you, such as bleeding disorders, infections at the injection site, or severe heart issues. If you choose to join, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods and be monitored closely to see how well it works for your recovery.
