ClinConnect Summary
The Genetics Navigator trial is studying a new digital tool designed to improve the experience of patients and parents who need genetic testing for various health conditions, including heart issues, connective tissue diseases, and certain cancers. This digital platform aims to make the process of getting genetic testing smoother and less stressful by providing helpful information and support throughout. By participating in this study, individuals can help researchers understand if this tool effectively reduces anxiety and enhances the overall experience of receiving genetic testing results.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) who has been referred for genetic testing at Mount Sinai Hospital or a parent or legal guardian of a child referred for testing at SickKids. Unfortunately, if you are not fluent in English or require urgent testing, you may not qualify. If you join the trial, you can expect support and guidance as you navigate the genetic testing process, helping to ensure that you and your family receive the best possible care. This research is an important step toward making genetic services more accessible and effective for everyone.
