ClinConnect Summary
The SUBTLE trial is a study designed to investigate a specific pain management technique called a superior hypogastric plexus block (SHPB) for women undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy, which is a minimally invasive surgery to remove the uterus. The main goal of this trial is to see if this technique can improve the quality of recovery after the surgery, helping patients feel better and heal faster.
To participate in this study, women aged 18 and older who are having a laparoscopic hysterectomy for non-cancerous reasons may be eligible. However, those whose surgery involves certain complex areas of the body, have allergies to the medications used for the block, or have known or suspected cancer cannot take part. Participants can expect to receive more information about the trial, and if they choose to join, they will help researchers learn more about how to improve recovery after this common procedure. It's important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it will provide valuable insights once it begins.
