ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to teach advanced anatomy to medical students using virtual reality. Researchers want to see if learning through a virtual 3D printing system in the Metaverse is more effective than traditional methods, like using flat diagrams and scans. The study will involve 100 fifth-year medical students at National Taiwan University who have already completed a basic anatomy course and are starting their hands-on training in surgery. They will take tests before and after the training to measure how well they learn and how motivated they feel.
To participate, students need to be over 18 years old, have completed a year-long anatomy course, and not yet have started their full clinical internship in thoracic surgery. Some students may not be eligible if they experience issues like cybersickness or are sensitive to bright lights. This trial is a chance for students to engage with advanced anatomy in a new, interactive way, which could enhance their learning experience as they prepare for their medical careers.
