ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to study the genetic factors that may contribute to bruxism, which is a condition where people grind their teeth, often during sleep. Researchers want to find out if certain genetic variations in two specific genes (called HTR2A and DRD3) are linked to bruxism. To do this, they will collect DNA and RNA samples from participants, comparing those with bruxism to those without to see if there are any noticeable differences.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of bruxism. However, people with certain health issues, like systemic diseases or specific neurological conditions, as well as those taking certain medications, will not be eligible. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who join can expect to provide samples that will help researchers better understand the genetic aspects of bruxism. This research could lead to improved treatments or insights into this common condition.
