ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how teenagers manage their emotions, specifically looking at whether having a friend help with emotional regulation is more effective than doing it alone. The researchers want to understand if this approach is better for young people and how the brain works differently when emotions are regulated socially compared to individually. During the study, participants will take part in a psychology experiment while having their brain activity monitored through a type of scan called an fMRI.
The trial is currently looking for participants aged 13 to 15 years and young adults aged 20 to 25 years who are fluent in English. To be eligible, participants should not have any significant hearing, vision, or cognitive issues, and must not have health problems that would make an MRI unsafe. If you or a family member fit these criteria, you could contribute to important research that helps us understand how social support impacts emotional health in young people.
