ClinConnect Summary
The Conversational AI Study is exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help healthcare professionals, like doctors and nurses, improve their communication skills, especially during tough conversations. For example, this study will focus on how well AI simulations can prepare these professionals to talk about medical errors or mistakes with patients and their families. This research is important because better communication can lead to improved patient care and trust.
To participate in this study, individuals must be healthcare workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital or its affiliated facilities, including nurses, physician assistants, and doctors. However, some people may not be eligible if they have severe motion sickness, nausea, seizure disorders, or are taking certain heart medications. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but when it does, those involved can expect to engage with AI technology designed to simulate real-life conversations, helping them practice and enhance their skills in a safe environment.
