ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of protein supplements on cravings in patients being treated for addiction. The researchers want to find out if adding protein to the diet can help reduce the strong urges to use substances during the early stages of addiction treatment. The study will last for two weeks, with participants receiving protein supplements for one week and going without them for the other week.
To join the study, participants must be at least 18 years old and currently admitted to the hospital for addiction treatment. They should also be able to understand and sign consent forms. However, people with allergies to milk protein, those who have been hospitalized for less than three weeks, or individuals with serious health issues that affect their ability to understand the study cannot participate. If someone decides to join, they can expect to take part in a simple study that aims to improve their treatment experience and help manage their cravings better.
