ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on screening for Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection among people who inject drugs (PWID) in Armenia and Colombia. Hepatitis C is a serious virus that can lead to liver disease, and those who inject drugs are at a higher risk of being infected. The study aims to better understand how common this infection is in these communities and to promote awareness and treatment options for those affected. The trial is currently looking for participants who are between 18 and 65 years old, have used injected drugs in the past six months, and live in the study areas.
If you choose to participate, you can expect to answer some questions about your health and drug use. It’s important to note that the study is open to both Colombian nationals and Venezuelan migrants. However, individuals who have difficulty answering the survey due to physical or cognitive issues, or those who are currently under the influence of drugs, will not be able to join. This trial is a vital step in providing necessary information and support to reduce the spread of Hepatitis C in these communities.
