ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how using virtual reality (VR) during exercise testing might affect how well healthy adults can perform aerobic exercise. Specifically, researchers want to find out if VR can change the maximum amount of oxygen a person can use during intense exercise (known as VO2peak) and whether it affects how hard a person can work before feeling out of breath (the ventilatory threshold). Participants will take part in two exercise tests, one in a regular lab setting and one while using VR, with a week in between to recover.
To be eligible, participants should be healthy adults aged 65 to 74 and should not have any health issues that would make exercise unsafe, such as those indicated by a health questionnaire. Women who are pregnant at the time of the study will not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to complete two exercise tests and help researchers understand if virtual reality can enhance exercise performance. This could be an exciting opportunity to contribute to new ways of improving physical activity for everyone!
