ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a specific body position, called the lithotomy position, affects the optic nerve, which is important for our vision. Researchers want to see if being in this position during a certain type of surgery can change the pressure inside the skull. This is important because changes in pressure can affect vision and overall brain health.
To participate in this study, patients need to be between 18 and 65 years old and must be able to understand and agree to the study (this is called giving informed consent). They should be scheduled for a retrograde intrarenal surgery, which is a procedure related to the kidneys, and be in good health overall. However, patients with certain conditions, such as being overweight or having had previous surgeries on their brain or eyes, won't be eligible. If you join this trial, you will help researchers learn more about how body position impacts eye health, which could improve care for future patients.
