ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of collagen protein on muscle recovery after exercise, specifically looking at how it helps heal the muscles and tendons in the calf after they have been pushed hard. Participants will compare collagen protein to a placebo, which is a substance with no active ingredients, to see which one helps the muscles recover better after doing special calf exercises designed to induce muscle fatigue.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be healthy males aged 18 to 30 who have not done any resistance training in the past three months. They also cannot have any allergies to bovine collagen or maltodextrin, a type of sugar. If selected, participants can expect to undergo various tests to measure muscle thickness, strength, and pain levels before and after the exercise. This study aims to provide valuable insights into how collagen protein can support muscle recovery, which could benefit many athletes and active individuals in the future.
