ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new online program called "JOURNeY," designed to help people with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). The program uses a method called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is a common treatment for anxiety and depression. What’s unique about this study is that one version of the program allows users to participate completely anonymously, meaning no personal information is collected. Researchers want to see if this anonymous version is as effective as a version that does require some personal details, like an email address. They will look at how well each version helps reduce anxiety symptoms and improve overall quality of life, among other outcomes.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old, have access to the internet and a device like a smartphone or computer, and meet certain criteria related to their level of social anxiety. Those who have severe suicidal thoughts or specific mental health conditions like psychosis or bipolar disorder cannot take part. Participants can expect to help researchers understand what works best for people with social anxiety while also enjoying the benefits of the program itself. This trial is actively recruiting, and both men and women are welcome to join.
