ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a social robot, named PARO, can help families dealing with rare diseases. The researchers want to find out if using this robot can improve the relationships between parents and their children and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety for both the kids and their parents. Families will participate in sessions with PARO for about 30 minutes every two weeks, for a total of four sessions.
To join the study, children must be between 8 and 19 years old, have a rare disease, and be able to communicate in Chinese. Parents must also be able to communicate in Chinese. However, some individuals cannot participate if they have certain medical conditions, such as having a pacemaker or open wounds. The trial is currently looking for participants, and it offers a unique opportunity for families to engage with a robot designed to support their emotional well-being.
