ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how different factors related to a person's mental and emotional state, such as worries about pain, sleep problems, and anxiety, can influence the effectiveness of a type of pain relief called regional anesthesia during surgery. The researchers want to find out if these psychological factors affect how well the anesthesia works, how much pain medication (like opioids) is needed after surgery, and if patients experience ongoing pain after their surgery.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, speak English, and be scheduled for surgery where they will stay in the hospital afterwards. They must also be willing to complete a survey or participate in a recorded interview about their mental and emotional health. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to gather important information that could help improve pain management for patients undergoing surgery.
