ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how often children experience side effects after receiving sedation for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. Because MRI scans require patients to stay very still, many young children need sedation to help them relax. The researchers want to find out how common these side effects are and what factors might influence them, such as the child’s health history and the types of sedation used.
The trial is open to children under the age of 16 who do not require intubation (a medical procedure where a tube is placed in the throat to help with breathing) and will involve around 500 participants. The study will take place from June to September 2024. Parents can expect their child’s health information, including any medications and procedures, to be recorded during the MRI. This research aims to improve safety and care for children undergoing this important diagnostic procedure.
