ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program designed to help Syrian refugee women in Turkey who are experiencing psychological distress, which means they are having a hard time dealing with stress and emotional challenges. The study will involve two groups of women: one group will receive a guided self-help program called Self Help Plus (SH+) that teaches stress management techniques, along with a session to address challenges they face after moving to a new country. The other group will continue with the usual support they receive. The goal is to see if the SH+ program can help reduce feelings of distress and improve overall mental well-being.
To participate in this trial, women must be at least 18 years old, speak Arabic, and be Syrian refugees living in Turkey. They should not have used services from the Refugee Association before and need to meet certain health criteria related to their emotional well-being. Participants will learn coping strategies over five sessions and will have the opportunity to discuss their experiences and challenges after moving. This study aims to fill a gap in support for refugee women and will help researchers understand how effective this program can be in improving mental health and overall quality of life.
