ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at new ways to perform surgery for thyroid tumors, specifically focusing on a technique that avoids certain stitches to see if it improves patient outcomes. The study aims to gather information about thyroid tissues and lymph nodes to better understand how thyroid cancer starts, grows, and spreads. Researchers hope that this information will help improve diagnosis and treatment options for patients with conditions like papillary thyroid cancer and lymph node metastasis.
To participate in this trial, you should be between 18 and 75 years old and scheduled for a specific type of thyroid surgery called transthoracic endoscopic thyroidectomy, which is done through the breast. You will need to have a confirmed diagnosis of either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) thyroid tumors, and imaging tests should show that the cancer hasn’t spread outside the thyroid or to distant parts of the body. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo the modified surgery and contribute to important research that may help improve future treatments for thyroid cancer.
