ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping young adults who have been using prescription opioids in ways that aren’t recommended, like taking them without a doctor’s prescription or using them for non-medical reasons. The study aims to create a program on Instagram, led by peers, to educate participants on managing their opioid use and developing important social skills. Over 12 weeks, young adults in the program will join interactive sessions on Instagram, where they will learn from peer leaders and share their experiences.
To take part in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 25 years old, live in the U.S., and have used prescription opioids non-medically in the past three months. They also need to be active Instagram users, checking the app at least three times a week. Participants will complete surveys at the start and end of the program to measure their progress. It’s important to note that this study is not for anyone currently receiving treatment for substance use disorders or those who have been diagnosed with such disorders. The goal is to provide support and education to help young adults make safer choices regarding prescription opioids.
