ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the quality of two different grafts used in heart surgery might affect each other. Specifically, it looks at whether a new graft placed in an area different from the heart's left anterior descending artery (LAD) influences the performance of the graft made from the left internal mammary artery, which is connected to the LAD. The researchers are using a special technique called transit-time flowmetry (TTFM) to measure the blood flow through these grafts during coronary artery bypass surgery.
To participate in the study, individuals must be over 18 years old, provide informed consent, and be scheduled for coronary artery bypass grafting due to stable or unstable angina, or a type of heart attack called NSTEMI. However, those who cannot give consent, are having emergency surgery, or have certain medical conditions may not be eligible. Participants can expect to contribute to important research that could improve heart surgery outcomes, but the trial is not yet recruiting patients.
