ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help people with Type 1 Diabetes who are hospitalized for a serious condition called Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). The research team believes that using advanced technology, such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), can help manage blood sugar levels better during and after hospital stays. This approach aims to improve patients' health and reduce the chances of them needing to return to the hospital.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes, and have been admitted to the hospital with DKA that required treatment with intravenous insulin. They should not have used CGM before and must have a compatible smartphone. Participants can expect to receive support from a specialized team at the Cleveland Clinic, which will guide them through their care after leaving the hospital. If you're interested in participating or want to learn more, this trial could be an important opportunity for better management of diabetes.
