ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how laparoscopic surgery, a common type of minimally invasive surgery, affects different body functions, particularly the heart and lungs. During this type of surgery, gas is used to create space in the abdomen, which can change pressure in the body and may affect how well the heart and lungs work. The study will explore these changes, especially in patients who may have other health issues or are older, as they might be more affected by these changes.
To participate in this trial, you would need to be scheduled for elective abdominal surgery and generally healthy. The study will not include those with emergency conditions or existing heart problems. If you join, the research team will monitor your heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing throughout the surgery to see how these factors are influenced. This could help improve safety and outcomes for future patients undergoing similar procedures.
