ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of breathing exercises can help people with Parkinson's disease (PD) breathe better and improve their voice. Parkinson's disease can make it hard to breathe and speak clearly because the muscles we use for breathing can become weak. In this study, 45 participants with PD will be divided into three groups. One group will do exercises to strengthen the muscles used for inhaling, another group will work on both inhaling and exhaling muscles, and the third group will do similar exercises without any real muscle training. The goal is to see if these targeted exercises can help improve how well the lungs function and how clear the voice sounds compared to those who aren’t doing the real training.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 30 and 85, have a stable health condition, and be able to follow instructions. They must also have Parkinson's disease at a mild to moderate stage. However, individuals with cognitive impairments, other serious medical conditions, or who have recently had surgery will not be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting, but once it starts, it aims to find new ways to help improve the daily lives and communication skills of those living with Parkinson's disease.
