ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how special training for the eyes and body can affect the number and seriousness of concussions in female soccer players in Switzerland’s top league. The goal is to see if this training can help reduce injuries and to create guidelines that are specifically designed for women players. Some teams will receive a detailed pre-season assessment and personalized training recommendations, while others will continue their usual training. Throughout the 2024/2025 soccer season, researchers will compare the two groups to see if the training makes a difference in reducing concussions and other injuries.
To participate in this study, players must be registered with a club in the top Swiss soccer league and should not have any recent head injuries. They need to be able to understand the study information and answer questions accurately. However, players with certain health conditions, pregnancy, or psychiatric disorders will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in the training and assessments and will be part of a project aimed at improving player safety in the sport. Initial findings are expected by spring 2025, just in time for the European Women's Football Championship.
