ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a special measurement called tissue oximetry can help doctors understand oxygen levels in muscle tissue during a specific type of surgery for ovarian cancer. The surgery, known as cytoreductive surgery, is combined with a treatment called hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), which involves delivering heated chemotherapy directly into the abdominal cavity. The researchers want to find out if low oxygen levels in the muscle during the surgery could be linked to kidney problems afterward.
To participate in this trial, women aged 18 to 74 who are scheduled for cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer with HIPEC may be eligible. Participants can expect to have their muscle oxygen levels monitored during the surgery. This study aims to gather important information that could help improve patient care and outcomes in future ovarian cancer surgeries.
