ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the long-term outcomes of treatments for zygomatic fractures, which are breaks in the cheekbone area of the face. These types of injuries can impact not only how a person looks but also how they function and feel emotionally. The researchers at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam want to understand how satisfied patients are with their treatment and how it affects their quality of life after their injuries. The study will include adults aged 18 and older who received treatment for zygomatic fractures between January 2008 and June 2023.
If you or a loved one has had a zygomatic fracture and were treated at Erasmus MC during this time, you may be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will be asked to share their experiences and satisfaction related to their treatment, contributing valuable information that could help improve future care for similar injuries. The study uses advanced imaging technology called Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), which provides detailed images of the facial bones with low radiation exposure. Overall, this research aims to enhance our understanding of how to best care for patients with facial fractures.
