ClinConnect Summary
The ACEMg Hearing Preservation and Tinnitus Relief study, also known as the OTIS Study, is looking into a dietary supplement called ACEMg (Soundbites) that aims to help people with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) and tinnitus. SNHL is a common type of hearing loss that affects many people and currently has no cure. This study is designed to see if taking ACEMg daily can help stabilize or improve hearing for those with SNHL and provide relief for symptoms of tinnitus, a ringing or buzzing sound in the ears that can accompany hearing loss.
To participate, you need to be at least 18 years old and self-report having hearing loss or tinnitus. The study is conducted from home using a smartphone app, where you will complete initial assessments of your hearing and tinnitus symptoms. You will then take ACEMg softgel capsules daily and repeat the assessments after 12 and 24 weeks. The study is free to join, and it aims to gather more information about how effective ACEMg is in helping those with these conditions.
