ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different ways to conduct sit-to-stand (STS) tests for individuals with chronic lung disease (CRD). The researchers want to see if these tests can be done effectively at home, either with supervision from a healthcare professional using technology or by the patients themselves. The trial will compare three methods: having the test done in a medical center, being supervised remotely, and doing it on your own. This is important because it could help find reliable ways for patients to exercise safely at home, especially as more care moves online.
To join the trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosed chronic respiratory condition, like asthma or COPD. They should be able to perform at least five stand-ups in one minute without using their arms and have access to a portable pulse oximeter to check their heart rate and oxygen levels. Participants will receive guidance on how to perform the tests and will help researchers understand how well these home-based methods work compared to traditional center-based testing. It's a great opportunity for patients to contribute to important research while managing their health from home.
