ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two breathing techniques—autogenic drainage and segmental breathing—can help people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is a serious lung condition that makes it hard to breathe and can cause tiredness. In this study, researchers will look at how combining these two breathing exercises affects patients' ability to breathe better and feel more comfortable. They will recruit 40 participants aged 40 to 60 who have been diagnosed with moderate COPD. To be eligible, they should be stable, able to understand the trial information in English or Urdu, and not have certain serious health conditions.
Participants will be divided into two groups. One group will practice both breathing techniques for about 20 to 45 minutes, three times a week over four weeks, while the other group will only do autogenic drainage. Before and after the training, the researchers will measure how well participants are breathing using simple tests. This study aims to find out if the combination of these techniques can lead to better breathing and overall health for individuals with COPD.
