ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the differences in gum tissue between healthy individuals and those with gingivitis, which is a common gum disease caused by bacteria buildup. The researchers want to use a special type of ultrasound called ultra-high frequency ultrasonography (UHFUS) to look closely at the gums. They will compare things like gum thickness and blood flow in both groups to better understand how inflammation affects gum health.
To participate in the study, you need to be over 18 years old and have at least 20 teeth. You should also have a high level of plaque on your teeth, indicating gum disease. However, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking certain medications, or if you smoke, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo ultrasound scans of your gums in different areas of your mouth, which will help researchers gather important information about gum health.
