ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help doctors diagnose serious blood clots known as venous thromboembolism (VTE), which includes conditions like pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. Researchers want to find out if using fresh blood plasma samples is just as effective as using frozen samples for testing patients who might have these conditions. The main question is whether a new method or guideline is needed for diagnosing VTE based on these different types of blood samples.
To participate in the study, individuals should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and must have a suspicion of a blood clot (either PE or DVT). They should also agree to take part in the research and share their information. However, people who are currently receiving blood-thinning treatments or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot join. Participants will be diagnosed and treated according to the usual medical standards, and their involvement will help improve future diagnosis and treatment of blood clots.
