ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how an animated education program can help reduce anxiety and complications for children undergoing a procedure called cardiac catheterization. In this procedure, doctors use a thin tube to examine the heart. Children aged 6 to 12 years who are scheduled for their first non-emergency cardiac catheterization may be eligible to participate. The trial aims to see if watching an engaging animated video 24 hours before the procedure can make them feel less anxious and lead to fewer complications like bleeding at the site where the tube is inserted.
Participants in the trial will be divided into two groups. One group will watch the animated program, while the other will receive standard care without the video. Researchers will measure the children's anxiety two hours before the procedure and monitor for any bleeding or bruising after the catheter is removed. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s important to note that children with certain health conditions, like developmental delays or bleeding disorders, are not eligible for this study.
