ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Parents as Partners," is studying a program designed to help couples who are new parents strengthen their relationship as co-parents. The program includes eight weekly group sessions, each lasting two hours, where couples will learn ways to support each other in their parenting journey. The goal is to see how effective this program is in improving the way couples work together as parents, especially for those with a child under three years old.
To participate in this trial, couples must meet certain criteria. They should be a heterosexual couple living together, both willing to join the program, and they must be first-time parents to their only child, who is younger than three. Couples with serious mental health issues, those experiencing domestic violence, or those with substance abuse problems cannot participate. If eligible, couples can expect to engage in discussions and activities with other parents, gaining tools and insights to help them navigate this exciting yet challenging time in their lives. Additionally, the researchers will gather feedback from participants about how helpful they found the program.
