ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a specific psychological program can help people who have had weight loss surgery, like gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy, to stay active and prevent regaining weight. The researchers want to find out if this program can encourage regular physical activity, help with weight maintenance, and boost motivation to exercise, even when it feels uncomfortable. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the psychological support, while the other will get educational information.
To be eligible, participants should have had weight loss surgery between 10 and 20 months ago and should have maintained most of the weight they lost. They should also be able to participate safely in a physical activity program. Those who join will spend 12 months in either the psychological or educational program, which includes online workshops, homework assignments, and phone calls with a counselor. Participants will also wear a device to track their activity and use an electronic scale to monitor their weight throughout the study. This trial is currently looking for individuals aged 18 and older, and it’s an exciting opportunity for those who want to maintain their weight loss after surgery!
