ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of pain relief for patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery. The researchers want to compare the effectiveness of a genicular nerve block (GNB) and an adductor canal block (ACB) in reducing pain after the surgery. The GNB has shown promise in managing pain in other knee procedures without affecting muscle strength, which is important for recovery, while the ACB has been used with mixed results.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 50 years old and scheduled for ACL surgery. However, those with certain conditions like diabetes, chronic pain, or a history of drug or alcohol addiction cannot take part. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods and help researchers learn which one is more effective for managing pain after ACL surgery. This study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to join regardless of gender.
