ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding the results of surgeries performed to reconstruct the upper part of the thigh bone (proximal femur) after removing primary bone tumors, specifically bone sarcomas. Researchers are looking at the medical records and imaging studies of about 150 patients treated at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute over the last few decades, from 1991 to 2023. The goal is to analyze how well these surgeries worked and to gather important information about patient outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, patients need to be between 18 and 90 years old, have undergone surgery for a bone sarcoma at the Rizzoli Institute, and have relevant clinical and imaging data available. Both men and women are welcome to participate. If they meet these criteria, participants can expect their medical history and imaging results to be reviewed, contributing to a better understanding of the effectiveness of these surgical procedures. This research could help improve future treatments for patients with similar conditions.
