ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how inhalation therapy can help reduce fear and anxiety in young children aged 3 to 6 who are receiving treatment for respiratory issues. The goal is to see if using a nebulizer, which is a device that turns liquid medicine into a mist for easy breathing, can not only improve children's physical symptoms but also make them feel more comfortable and less scared during treatment. The study will take place at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Training and Research Hospital from July 2023 to July 2025 and will involve 120 children and their mothers who meet specific criteria and agree to participate.
To be eligible for the trial, children must be between 3 and 6 years old, be receiving nebulizer treatment for a respiratory condition, and not have any significant mental or neurological disabilities. It’s important that the child's mother is present during the treatment and can communicate in Turkish. Participants will fill out simple questionnaires to help researchers understand their experiences. Mothers and children will also interact with fun toys during the treatment to help reduce anxiety. This study aims to create a more positive experience for children during medical procedures, and your participation could contribute to valuable insights in this area!
